Video and audio work using the iPhone 3GS and a DNX7120. The Kenwood website does not list this as a supported combination, but it worked. The interface is also much faster and easier to use than a DVD loaded with MP3's. If you have an iPod/iPhone and a Kenwood receiver, you have to get this cable.
I tried to purchase a similar 30 pin to USB/3.5mm from monoprice.com and seeing as they were out relegated myself to purchasing this one instead. It's a good cable although I use it to run audio from my iPhone to my aux-in head unit and power it via a USB charger. It works well for this, but two gripes; one is that the cable is still bent where it was in the packaging which is unsightly, and two it shows a warning when plugging in that the accessory wasn't made for an iPhone and may cause interference. It hasn't in my case, but if that's a concern be aware.
This is not a real kenwood KCA-ip300V ipod cable. it is a knock off and will not work with your radio.i bought one it did not work i contacted kenwood and they said if it was a kenwood product it would say kenwood on the juction box and it does not.if you are looking for this cable contact kenwood for a kenwood dealer. This is what i did and it works great.
Only issue I have is when the phone is connected the head unit also connects the bluetooth wireless headphone connection which needs to be turned off in the settings>bluetooth menu everytime I turn on the car. Works good, video comes through fine. Coonects highspeed to the dnx8120. kind of a pain but a small inconvenience. During video play the video does not automatically show unless you press the "photo" in the top left hand corner once the file is playing. This works with my iphone 3gs no problem. Well worth the price as it also charges your phone so its the same price as a charger anyway. A must have for ipod/iphone owners.
I can now watch music videos, TV shows, movies, etc. I was using a USB drive to with my receiver, but wanted to play my iTunes videos, so I purchased this and an iPod Nano (4th Gen). I bought this for my Kenwood DNX7120 NAV/Receiver. in my car with ease. Works great. Just plug and play. Also, it is much faster and does not hang like the USB input option on this receiver. Do a search online to learn how to make video playlists.
